Coming soon to Sunbury – a new major town centre!

We are delighted to share another huge drawcard that our future Maplestone residents can look forward to – a brand new, state-of-the-art major town centre in Sunbury!

To be delivered by local property group SRL, the $100m Sunbury town centre will bring everyone’s favourite things – a full-line supermarket and discount department store, retail stores, dining and outdoor amenities, undercover areas, wetlands, and more – together in a family-friendly, open and green environment, that you’ll love visiting for many years to come.

The developer will be working with international architects OMA on the design, so you can look forward to a pedestrian-friendly centre with generous public spaces and service offerings, that boasts many reasons to visit beyond a traditional shopping trip!
It’s one of the many things that future residents can look forward to nearby to Maplestone, in addition to the stunning natural surrounds of the Macedon Ranges, the tight-knit community network within Sunbury, effortless connectivity to the CBD via the nearby Sunbury Station, and much more.

These nearby amenities will complement Maplestone’s future parklands, school, local sports reserves, and wetlands, as well as the friendly and welcoming community, all of which will combine to create a sought-after place to call home.
The location drawcards of Sunbury has been one of the big drivers of Maplestone’s activity, says development manager Angus Ramsay.
“ People who buy here are really looking forward to taking in everything Sunbury has to offer – scenery, local wineries and restaurants, cafés, retail, and so much more. Many of them are already familiar with the area, having either lived here or nearby before.
“ We are looking forward to the new major town centre, and all the amenities our residents will be able to access there with ease,” he said.

The new town centre, which will be located just minutes from Maplestone, will have something to offer all local families, visitors and residents, says SRL’s development director Jim Athanas – who we recently sat down with.

“When complete the centre will have a striking façade, alongside stunning outdoor amenities like wetlands, outdoor seating and open green spaces, which are designed to be enjoyed on foot, before spending the day walking around and taking in all the centre has to offer.

“Following the approval of our plans, we can now work towards commencing construction on the centre in the next few years – we are really looking forward to delivering something new and exciting to the Sunbury region, and working closely with nearby communities and residents to ensure the centre meets their needs,” he said.
