The best cafés in Sunbury, part 1

Sunbury is certainly no stranger to urban café culture; it would take you months to try all of the local dining spots.

Here’s a round up of our favourite cafés in Sunbury, in no particular order.

Brown Cow Café

The fun coffee mugs, the classic pastries and the wide variety of eggs your way will make you remember Brown Cow Café.

This space also transforms to a night time burger bar on the weekends. Don’t forget to complete your dinner with an indulgent milkshake – from Cherry Ripe to Unicorn Fancy, their array of milkshake flavours will satisfy those tastebuds, whipped cream optional.

Located at 90 Vineyard Road, there’s plenty of outdoor seating to catch some sunshine too!

Kaffeine Bar Sunbury

Discover the ultimate brunch experience at Kaffeine Bar, with an all-day breakfast menu featuring all your brunch favourites. Indulge in a range of delights, including fluffy Churro Pancakes and Spanish Eggs. Balance your meal with one of their nourishing smoothies.

You’ll find this café along 109 O’Shanassy Street, in the heart of Sunbury’s café culture. With plenty of seating and an outdoor area perfect for your dog, it’s a great stop if you’re roaming around Sunbury centre.

Kyedon

Brunch with a side of retail therapy? Kyedon is a café but also an artisan homewares store and plant nursery. So once you’ve filled your belly, you can fill your home and garden!

Set in an old weatherboard cottage with private alcoves and plenty of space, this homely café dishes up fresh-squeezed juices and toasty panini in cosy surroundings.

Located away from the main strip of Sunbury, so parking won’t be an issue, you can find Kyedon at 25 Ligar Street.

The Spotted Owl

Another delightful eatery you’ll discover along the renowned O’Shanassy Street is The Spotted Owl. This trendy spot serves up classic breakfast dishes with a unique twist. Don’t miss their Japanese-inspired Okonomiyaki Pancake and Miso Salmon, or indulge in their Pork Benny – a combination of smoked barbecue-braised pork shoulder, homemade rosti, and fried lotus root.

Their specialty lies in hot drinks that are sure to please! Treat yourself to their Brewed Bounty, a heavenly pairing of rich dark Mork chocolate and coconut milk. If you’re feeling adventurous, give their Lilac Latte a try, crafted with taro powder for a delightful surprise.

The Yoozh Café

A must-visit destination for handcrafted toasties, amazing coffees and sweet treats, The Yoozh is located next to Sunbury Library, along Macedon Street, open from Monday to Friday.

Leave room for their delectable homemade desserts and indulge in a mouthwatering cinnamon roll, which is also vegan-friendly! With a great relaxed atmosphere, this café is a hit with the locals.
